"New Generation" exhibition at Gdynia Design Days 2023
Author: Magdalena Szczuka
The School of Form made a significant contribution to this year's edition of the Gdynia Design Days festival. Five projects of our students have qualified for the "New Generation" exhibition: "Play My Life!", "Bread Baking Utensils (Naczynia do wypieku chleba)", "Pillove", "Rattles (Grzechotki)" and "MoonLight". The curator of the exhibition is Agata Kiedrowicz, a lecturer at the School of Form.
Stability in an unstable world
Change is an inherent part of the modern era, and recent events have reinforced this reality. However, despite these dynamic changes, we all need stability and a sense of security.
The theme of this year's edition is "Stability" and the consequences of its absence in the world, especially with regard to issues such as climate change. This year, Gdynia Design Days placed even more emphasis on design in line with ecological principles and sustainable development in order to protect the environment on which we all depend. The focus is not only on ecological issues, but also on stability in everyday life and mental health. The main message of the festival is that stability should be inclusive and accessible to everyone without any exceptions.
The event included exhibitions, workshops, lectures and discussions on various topics including technology, design, ecology, fashion, architecture, urbanism and craftsmanship. The festival is not exclusively for professionals, but is open to anyone interested in design in a rapidly changing reality.
