Student Project

Dés à Boire

The main goal of my project is to challenge conventions and redefine the experience of enjoying French vichyssoise soup by altering expectations.

I have completely removed the need for conventional utensils like spoons. Instead, the soup is served in shot-glass portions, allowing for a more casual and spontaneous way to savor it. This approach transforms the act of eating from an activity requiring time and attention to a quick, social component of gatherings. By letting consumers choose their portion size, we can reduce food waste and remove the pressure to finish an entire bowl.

The project's name is a playful nod to the old-fashioned term for shot glasses that translates to "drinking dice."
