Withdim - Ceramic home fragrance fixation kit

Pieces of wool felt secured in porcelain containers that do not soak or let the smell through.

What is a sense of home? How can it be preserved? Do memories have a smell? These questions prompted the artist to interview Ukrainian students who are far from their family home. She decided to create an object that would help them preserve a piece of that home in the places where they currently live.

The interviews were divided into two parts: questions and a photo assignment. Inspired by the answers of her interviewees, the artist developed a ceramic set to hold the scent of home - "WITHDIM" - so you can always have a small piece of it with you. Memories and a sense of security are often linked to a fragrance that is unique to each of us.

Based on this concept, the artist created a tool to collect, store and recreate these smells. Its potential for further development lies in creating different versions inspired by diverse cultural elements.
