The Guerrilla Design
Eight objects that defy the rules of design, built with materials that were at hand. This is a personal, critical commentary on the shortcomings of urban spaces.
During his trips through the city, the creator of this project noticed a great deal of destruction and defects in the infrastructure, which made it difficult for the inhabitants to move around and interfered with their daily activities. As a result, he began to think about a project that would be an individual and critical response to the problems he had noticed, while keeping in mind first and foremost to help everyone living in the city.
Aiming for design freedom and defying accepted design rules, he decided to expand and redefine the concept of guerrilla design. Believing in the energy, creativity, courage and empathy of young designers, he tries to show that sometimes changes in the urban structure are necessary and can be made with ordinary means. Using simple technologies and tools he had at hand, he created eight objects made of free or recycled materials.
In addition, he created a zine that is both a collection of his ideas and thoughts that arose during the design process, as well as a loose lexicon that presents the methods he developed. The work is accompanied by a map guide that shows all the places that inspired the creation of the objects, where he sourced the materials, and where the various elements of the thesis were created.
