Pizza

Pizza is a dish recognized by everyone around the globe. When we think of pizza, our minds often picture a triangular slice or a round pie. I was surprised by how challenging it is to break free from these deep-rooted images. How can someone reinvent something that has been around for so long?

Access to the slices becomes possible only by removing individual elements from the object. The entire dish features a cohesive, tower-like design. A single slice of pizza is visible only on the topmost layer. By hiding the food and designing an opting for an unconventional shape of the dish, an element of surprise is introduced. Diners are left to ponder the purpose of the tableware and the whereabouts of the remaining food.

The object was designed by Magda Mączyńska, a student of Product Design.

It was created as part of the "Tuber" (Bulwa) project, a collaborative initiative involving the School of Form, BioBazar, and Norblin Factory.
