Target age group: children aged 4–8.
Characteristics of the target age group
- Developmental milestones
- Cognitive growth: Children begin to understand instructions, follow rules, and actively engage in imaginative play.
- Motor skills development: Fine and gross motor skills become more refined and coordinated.
- Educational focus: Children begin developing early literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving abilities that prepare them for elementary school.
- Societal and practical considerations
- School readiness: Children start developing key skills that prepare them for formal education, such as basic math, language use, and social interaction.
- Impactful learning: Early intervention has lasting positive effects on a child's development.
- Design complexity: Children at this age can manage more complex designs and rules, allowing for richer play experiences.
Project components
"Magnetic" letters and numebrs support the development of literacy, language, cognitive, and fine motor skills.
Felt hoops / “magnets” promote gross motor skills, strategic thinking, and social skills.
Sock puppets foster imagination, creativity, social development, and communication skills.
