Guiding Thought

If you can diagnose a child’s joy and its intensity, you must see that the greatest joy comes from overcoming difficulty, reaching a goal, and discovering a mystery. The joy of triumph and the happiness of independence, mastery, and control.

Student Project

Fort (Baza)

Target age group: children aged 2–4.

Our idea for expanding the functionality of the Good Wood wooden rocker is to design elements that allow children to build and play in a fort. Inspired by our own childhood experiences and observations of children’s behavior, we believe this type of play is not only fun but also supports development in many areas.

The toy promotes:

  • fine motor skills
  • creativity
  • sensory skills
  • imagination
  • curiosity about the world

Features and play ideas

  • Children can create their own imaginative play scenarios in the fort — a classic element of child-led games.
  • The rocker can transform into a cozy corner for reading or listening to stories, offering children a moment of calm surrounded by a “forest” setting.
  • The fort provides a sensory-rich environment that sparks creativity and encourages hands-on exploration of shapes and structures.

Project Authors

The accessories were designed by Julia Grabowska and Weronika Pawlikowska, students of Product Design.

They were created as part of a collaboration between School of Form and Good Wood brand.
