Dumpling Column (Kluskolumna)

The objective of the "Bulwa" project is to elevate popular Polish potato-based dishes to new heights. My specific task was to design a dish for gray dumplings - or kluski, as we call them in Poland.

I aimed to interpret this theme literally while paying homage to the folk heritage of the Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) region, where this traditional dish has its roots. To achieve this, I crafted a pedestal resembling a column, which can hold either a plate or a single dumpling, depending on the desired presentation. The base is adorned with an ornament inspired by traditional embroidery from Krajna, a historical region in northern Greater Poland.

The object was designed by Milena Bednarczyk, a student of Product Design.

It was created as part of the "Tuber" (Bulwa) project, a collaborative initiative involving the School of Form, BioBazar, and Norblin Factory.
