Graduation project
Amnesia
In her project, the artist explored the profound connection between memories and objects, viewing them as poetic metaphors. Each memory, akin to an inflatable balloon, possesses a delicate and fleeting nature — vulnerable to deformation and disappearance once the air of remembrance is released. It is up to us to make them return.
It is very likely that some of the memories will disappear from our memory. It is also possible that, at the least expected moment, a random impulse will bring them back. In her thesis, the artist focused on the inevitable passing of memories. Some will remain with us forever, while others will fade or blur.
Her project presented the complexities of remembering and forgetting. Life is breathed into each of our memories and they become part of us. Yet, as days turn into years, these memories gradually lose their vibrancy. The information stored within our minds escapes with varying intensity and speed, ultimately leading to selective retention. This project was a profound acknowledgment of the inherent selectivity of memory — accepting that not all recollections can remain vivid and intact forever.
As part of her thesis, the artist proposed a series of inflatable objects that the user can interact with through a tube that supplies air to their interior. The air gradually escapes over time, much like a memory after an unusual experience. Before the memory fades completely, the owner can re-inflate the balloon or let it go.
