MAYHAY

A collection of pillows filled with seasonal herbs for a good night's sleep. The set includes a pillowcase and a filling that changes with the seasons.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created uncertainty and fear of the unknown. At the same time, it has reminded us of the importance of taking care of our health and well-being, not only physically but also mentally. The MAYHAY brand project is a response to the need to manage stress and insomnia through natural methods such as herbal medicine. The impetus for the brand came from personal health issues. The final product, the pillow, is designed to help you fall asleep, relax and calm your body so that it can fully recover.

The pillow incorporates the concepts of wellness design, which aims to promote physical and emotional wellbeing and to create a relationship between the user and the object.

The design also incorporates the principles of biophilic design, reflected in the graphic patterns depicting the changing seasons, the natural materials, the herbal blends used to fill the pillows and the use of hay as a substitute for synthetic bedding.

The design is inspired by the Slavic tradition of herbalism, which is reflected not only in the herbal blends and hay, but also in the brand's overall visual identity. The MAYHAY logo refers to the Slavic circular calendar and the division of the four seasons into harvest and non-harvest ones.
