Graduated in Polish philology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (1989), journalism in the Institute de Journalisme Robert Schuman in Brussels (1990) and directing and production in the Institute of Telecommunication in Dallas (1991).
Director of documentary films, concerts and theatrical performances. Writer, press, radio and TV journalist, university lecturer, juror of international festivals.
Founder and trainer of ‘Fabryka Opowieści.’ She combines long-standing practice of documentary work with education and research. She specializes in the art of video storytelling and portraiture, using multicultural experience gained in the course of study and work as a teacher and director in several European countries, such as France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia and the USA.
She is the author of about 100 forms of documentaries, for which she received many awards, among others 1st prize at PIK 16 for ‘Alice in Wonderland’ (2010), Circom Grand Prix, Gold REMI Award at Worldfest Independent Film Festival in Houston for the film ‘On the edges’ (2005), 1st place at the festival ‘Happy End’ in Jelenia Gora for a document ‘Accomplice’(2003). She was also shortlisted in Prix Europa (2006) and the New York Festival (2007) for the movie ‘My child is an angel.’ Monika Górska makes films for Polish national television and other European TV stations, such as RTBF, RTL-5 or LTV.
