Lecturer of industrial design
Architect, graduate of Szczecin University of Technology. Since 2003 he teaches and conducts research in the Department of Computer Aided Architectural Design at the Federal Polytechnic in Zurich (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich). The main area of his research is the use of computer-controlled machines in the technological processing of steel sheets for the architecture and design. During his research he developed a technology called FiDU (Freie-Innen-Druck-Umformung), through which steel sheets are deformed under the action of internal pressure. This technology is now the focal point of his design studio Zieta Prozessdesign.
Oscar has won numerous awards, among others Audi-Mentorpreis by A & W (2011), the Red Dot Award (2008), DMY for the manufacturing process innovation (2008), YDMI (2008), ‘Good Design’ (2009), the German Design Council Award (2009), Schweizer Design Preis (2008) and Materialica (2009). His works can be found in Badisches Landmuseum collection in Karlsruhe, the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich, the Pinakothek in Munich and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
