EcoLogics

A biodegradable and environmentally neutral board made from material extracted from common plants that occur in Poland. It serves as a promising alternative to the conventional particle board.

In the furniture industry, prevailing particle boards often exhibit a short lifespan, vulnerability to mechanical damage, and disposability, leading to a perception of them as transient items. The inherent impermanence and subpar quality of these boards result in rapid furniture deterioration, leading to frequent replacements within a few years of purchase. Moreover, the glues used in particleboard manufacturing, along with its structure, pose recycling and reuse complexities, turning it into problematic waste over time.

To address these issues, the artist meticulously explored and developed methods to extract essential components from commonplace plants abundant in biopolymers and saccharides present in the environment. The final result is the invention of a substitute material for particleboard that can be used in furniture manufacturing, providing sustainable and durable solutions.
