Profile

Coordinator of the Communication Design Program at the School of Form, SWPS University in Warsaw. As a sociologist, he studies images, contemporary iconographies, visual narratives and semiology. As a documentary photographer, he has completed several long-term projects focusing on the visualization of broader processes through their consequences and effects. He has received the Urbanautica Institute Award, the Enconctros da Imagem Discovery Award and the Views Award. He has been recognized with the Allegro Award, the Grand Prix Lodz Fotofestival, the CDS Documentary Essay Award, the Paszporty Polityki Award, the Film Photo Award and the Grand Press Photo. His works are included in the collections of Encontros Da Imagem and the National Institute of Architecture and Urbanism. A graduate of the Institute of Applied Social Sciences at the University of Warsaw (Ph.D.) and the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava (MA). Creator of workshop programs, co-founder of the Azimuth Press art/education collective, formerly the Papier Bije Kamień Foundation. Co-founder of the Archiwum Protestów Publicznych (Archive of Public Protests) platform. After hours musician and sound artist under various pseudonyms. A fan of zines and DIY culture.
